Robot-assisted surgery

Robot-assisted surgical system
As an engineering partner, we were able to support the first German system for robot-assisted, minimally invasive surgery. Tailored to the needs of users, the state-of-the-art system enables precise keyhole surgery (known as laparoscopy) with maximum safety for patients and maximum ergonomic comfort for surgeons and surgical teams. Thanks to the disposable concept of this system, surgeons always work with new, reliable instruments without the risk of cross-contamination or costly sterilization processes. The application of German and European data protection standards ensures maximum protection of sensitive hospital and patient data. With a certified quality management system and the CE mark, it fulfills all legal and formal requirements and meets high safety and efficacy standards. The collaboration took place with an innovative German medical technology start-up in the field of robot-assisted surgery with high-tech locations in Jena, Ilmenau, Hanover and Altingen, which has now been dissolved. The private company was founded in 2011 and brought together the expertise of leading European surgeons, top German managers and excellent German engineers and software developers. With the opportunity to work on such an innovative project and to integrate our expertise in product engineering, we have achieved a major milestone in robot-assisted surgery.

Main features of the system:
- Developed and manufactured in Germany
- Space-saving system
- 4 robotic arms, for controlling instruments and endoscope
- Instruments with 8 mm diameter and 7 degrees of freedom
- Stringent single-use concept for instruments and sterile accessories

"What I particularly appreciate about working with DMTpe is the exceptional flexibility and the sincere effort to really understand the customer's real pain. Throughout all phases - from the initial idea to industrialization - the team works highly independently, pragmatically and with a real hands-on mentality. You are met exactly where you are and you can always sense the common goal. Results are not only delivered on time, but with foresight - the next steps are often already prepared before you even know what's coming next."
